Warning Time

The gap between a system knowing and a system telling.

Corrections

Every correction is published with a date and a version number. Nothing is edited silently — not a number, not a caption, not a title.

How it works

  1. A claim is wrong. Anyone can say so: reply, comment, issue, email.
  2. The claim keeps its id. A new claim gets a new id and a supersedes field pointing at the old one. The old one stays visible with a strike and a date.
  3. The correction is listed at /corrections and at the top of the affected piece's ledger page.
  4. If a correction changes the finding rather than a detail, it is announced in the newsletter and pinned on the video. Not buried in a description edit.

What counts as a correction versus an update

Both are dated. Only corrections carry the word.

Standing disclosure

Where the underlying source is an unreviewed preprint, that is stated on screen, in the description, in the essay, and on the ledger page — every time, without exception. A preprint is not a paper. Saying otherwise once would end this.
